We shudder every time we hear one of those stories about someone buying a taco with "worthless bitcoin" in 2011, but at the same time, there's nothing we can really do about moments like those. None of us has a crystal ball, and we shouldn't kick ourselves for making a reasonable prediction that simply doesn't turn out to be true. But when someone else does, and it's in writing? Sweet lord, that's fair game.
Again, no one knows the future, except for everyone who engages in insider trading. But if you're not doing that, then you're just as dumb and blind as the rest of, telling all of your friends that Segway travel is going to be the next big thing. Or that you should totally buy those fat free chips that gave everyone diarrhea. Or your car is covered in Nader bumper stickers.
Time is hard on all of us.
