Have you ever heard a guy say he got dumped and “it was out of nowhere!"? Or maybe the classic, “She brought something up from a year ago!” Well, if you don't see why those things are a red flag, then you are probably the problem, babe… This guy said that and then some about his now ex-fiancée. He turned to Reddit, twice, to get some validation but instead he (thankfully) got a much-needed dose of reality. Did it help? It seemed like he wasn't listening to his girlfriend AND the internet. Usually, when the break up feels “out of nowhere,” it's because of something you refused to see and/or work on. And when she brings something up from a year ago, that usually means that maybe you apologized with your words, but you sure as sh** didn't apologize with your actions because it seems that it still has bothered her a year later.
This Redditor came to the site a year ago to rant about his fiancée having their kids eat tortillas with their hands, which he deemed “bad table manners." She explained how that was insensitive to her culture and he came to Reddit to vent. Instead of getting the validation that he wanted, he was shown to be a real pain in the tush. He apologized, but only after the internet tore him a new one.Now, a year later, he returns to Reddit to vent about how his fiancée broke off their engagement because of that argument. You better believe everyone came back to explain to him why that seems 100% appropriate. Other than him saying some blatantly obvious red flag things like “I don't even know what she means. I think I zoned out for most of her rant” and “She went on a whole schpiel…” he seems to still think he is the victim.
