Since everyone loves Keanu Reeves, I've rounded up some of my favorite memes related to The Matrix and of course, threw in some simple Keanu memes (because who doesn't want that). Though the first film has been around for two decades and some change, the impact it had on viewers everywhere is very much still alive and burning. A story about the opposition, The Matrix mixes in everything we love about action movies but also combines the strange, the confusing, and, dare I say, the camp.
Upon my first watch when I was younger, I couldn't scratch the surface of the plot. Upon a recent rewatch, I got to thinking about how ahead of its time the film was, especially given the release date being one year before the nerve-wracking Y2K. We're still here, and we have no tangible reasons to believe we are in a simulation, but if you ask some Matrix fanatics, they might feel differently. Anyway, I'm not here to lecture you about the nature of the modern world.
