Adopting a dog is one of the best gifts that you can give yourself. It's like adopting an endlessly energetic ray of sunshine and plopping it straight into the middle of your heart, and that is not even an exaggeration. Having a dog means having peace and joy and yes, a whole lot of shenanigans, fill your home. You may think that rescuing a dog means doing something nice for the dog, but really, as much as they will get out of the deal, you will get a million times more.

Because dogs will do anything for you. Dogs will stand up in front of their worst fears to protect you. Dogs will save their humans from any danger… including the super-duper scary vacuum. Yes, it is super-duper scary. To your dog. Hey, the vacuum is a monster that eats and screams at the same time. It's terrifying. But your dog will face it anyway - to protect you. When we say that we don't deserve dogs, we really mean it. How many people can say that they would have done the same thing? Putting themselves in harm's way, up against one of their biggest fears, to help someone else? Not many. But dogs do it all the time.
