'There's ‘no room’ for me, but I'm still expected to drop $200?': Employee gets uninvited from their coworker's wedding at the last minute, then guilt-tripped into contributing $200 for a gift from the team, she refuses

Coworker relationships are tough to navigate. While you want to maintain an amicable, friendly relationship in the office, you don't necessarily want to bring that energy home with you, lest they report you to HR for borderline inappropriate jokes or glimpses into your true soul by accident. But occasionally, and usually by mistake, we can become quite close to our coworkers, regarding them as more than just an office companion but a genuine, real friend in the outside world. 

However, for the employee in this next story, this kind of friendship in the office led to a very sticky situation after she was uninvited to her colleague's wedding—only a month before the event. Perhaps they weren't as close as she thought.

But that didn't stop her fellow coworkers from asking—no, demanding—she still pitch her $200 portion of their 'Team Member' gift.
