How many times have you celebrated your birthday, and felt like the celebration was more for the other people in the room, and not for yourself? How many birthdays can you honestly say you've spent exactly how you wanted to, without taking into consideration anyone else?

While that day is supposed to be all about you, we often find ourselves making sacrifices just so we can make someone else happy, even though it should be the other way around. They are the ones who should do everything to make you happy, even if it doesn't make them entirely happy, too. If they truly love you, seeing you happy on your birthday should be enough to make them happy.

However, we all struggle with finding that balance. Even though we're adults, it is still challenging to put our wants and needs aside for the sake of someone else. But what can we say? If you want them to stay with you, you must find a way to overcome this challenge, otherwise, you might end up like the couple in the story below.
