However, on the day of the date, his hectic schedule leaves him without lunch, prompting him to arrive at the restaurant 45 minutes early.

In an effort to stave off potential hunger-induced crankiness during the date, the OP decided to order and finish a meal before his date arrived. When she got there, things were going really well initially until she discovered that he had already eaten earlier. She became furious. Despite explaining that the goal was to focus on getting to know her, the mood had already changed, and she left early. The OP sees nothing wrong with his actions, but the internet was pretty quick to put him in his place. What would you think about this first date?
