The Best Marvel Memes of the Week (May 9, 2025)

After a mere week of the film's release in theaters, Marvel has changed the name of Thunderbolts to The New Avengers. I can't help but wonder if this was the plan from the beginning, or if Marvel realized the movie wouldn't have as much in-theaters financial longevity under the original name. Maybe they wanted to change it to The New Avengers, but they realized it was too late even to add it as a subtitle. After all, Thunderbolts: The New Avengers has a great ring to it! Maybe they already printed 10 million posters with just Thunderbolts on them, and they didn't want to waste money. Or maybe, just maybe, they didn't want to spoil the movie for the superfans, releasing the title a week into the movie's release to ensure that it's only spoiled for fans who wait a week or two before seeing new Marvel fare in theaters. I guess we'll never know.
